I'd have to agree. They look like a bunch of accountants playing soldier.
That is just how Scandinavians look like. They could just show up in suits and with briefcases instead of uniforms. But it is important to know the Swedish Royal Guard rotate soldiers from all regiments and branches of the military. Sometimes even the Home Guard and the Women's Volunteer Corps get guard duty. They do have two permanent household regiments, like the German Wachbataillon, or the British King's Guard. They have guarded the Swedish monarchy for 500 years. So if you want to look out for the professional guards at the Swedish Royal Palace, look for The Life Guard Dragoons in their all blue uniforms.

Sowas mit ähnlichen Uniformen in Berlin beim Wachbattalion fänd ich super, wobei die Pickelhauben nicht unbedingt sein müssen. Damals trug man auch oft das Krätzchen, dem Barrett nicht unähnlich.

Buckingham Palace, The King's Castle in Stockholm...these are the residences of Royalty....Germany has no King or Kaiser...they do have royalty...but not in castles or on thrones....hence, no guards to loose. The closest thing is the WachBataillon when they render honors to foreign Ministers and for certain Grosser Zapfenstreich presentations for outgoing officers and Ministers of Government. You can look up the celebration of the return home of Wilhelm II to Schloss Hohenzollern. Gott...Ehre....Vaterland!

This is strictly for display. The Swedes were tough at one time and went soft. They were neutral in WW2 in the face of the greatest evil the world has ever known. It is estiamted the WW2 would have ended six months earlier but for the iron ore provided by Sweden to the Nazis . The Norwegians manned up and took it on the chin but maintained their self respect and the respect of other countries. The Norwegians do not like the Swedes as the Swedes provided safe passage for Nazi troops into and out of Norway after they invaded in WW2. Hopefully Sweden will man up in the face of that inhuman monster PUTIN. The Finns are tough. They killed one million Russians in the Winter war and fougth the Russians to a standstill in the contiuation war during WW2. Few people are aware of this and they will do the same to Putin. Just my two cents and no flames please. Just an honest discussion.
